Thoughts on the new iPad

Apple launched the new iPad this week. The main features are the new Retina screen and the faster processor. I think the Retina screen upgrade is a huge deal for a photographer such as myself as it allows an improved viewing experience of photos that are downloaded from the camera to the iPad, as well as observing of the photos that are on the iPad or online that are stored in a high resolution format. I think that the extra $100 over the regular iPad is worth the price of admission for this new iPad.

The iPad’s marketing and webpage provide good insight into the improvements in this screen. I am likely going to buy one – my first iPad, as a result of the move to this new screen.

About petergsimmons

Global citizenship is conferred on those who have lived in a variety of countries, and who don’t identify with any one culture. I am such a person. Having lived in Jamaica, Canada and Japan, I have been exposed to First World/Third World, East and West, North and South. This has lead to a rich living experience, open-mindedness and curiosity about the world around me. This variety of living conditions in human landscapes is coupled with equally diverse travels in natural landscapes from the jungles of South East Asia and South America to the Arctic tundra; tropical beaches to the Himalayas, resulting in an incredible journey through life itself.
