Training for the Granfondo Week 3

This was a short training week, as I was out of town on business. Managed to get in a run to BLanca and back on Tuesday morning, before heading to the airport to catch the flight. As my main bike was getting tuned up, I used my old hybrid for this ride. Added some extra resistance to the training. It was a great way to start the day, since I was flying on three flights for a good portion of the day, and would be sitting in cramped quarters for close to 9 hours.

Got my main bike back on Saturday, and then went out for a ride today. I decided to tackle Grouse Mountain base, and then go to UBC to get just over 53km in. I noticed that I was much quicker up Grouse than the previous time, although I took a breather at Grousewoods, before the last push up to the parking lot.

The track is shown here:

About petergsimmons

Global citizenship is conferred on those who have lived in a variety of countries, and who don’t identify with any one culture. I am such a person. Having lived in Jamaica, Canada and Japan, I have been exposed to First World/Third World, East and West, North and South. This has lead to a rich living experience, open-mindedness and curiosity about the world around me. This variety of living conditions in human landscapes is coupled with equally diverse travels in natural landscapes from the jungles of South East Asia and South America to the Arctic tundra; tropical beaches to the Himalayas, resulting in an incredible journey through life itself.
